Matthew 26:41

"Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

Dear Lord Jesus, your words echo through my soul this morning when You said, " O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will." I know You were facing the greatest sacrifice ever known to mankind, who could really comprehend it. My heart is heavy, burdened for many who have to walk the painful road I had to walk, but I confess every time I'm asked to come alongside a family, I realize all over again just how weak I am. Help me Lord to be as the good Samaritan to bend down to help those who are bleeding. Not side-stepping things that are stressful and messy but confronting the foe head on with the leading and guidance of Your Holy Spirit. I confess my flesh wants to run, ignore and hide from the trials of others as these are harsh reminders and triggers of a deep valley that has only recently been passed through. You are gracious and so loving and have borne my burdens, so help me Lord to fulfill Your law dear Christ Jesus. Help me to be gentle and kind coupled with a soberness to not be overtaken by the suffering which could lead me into sin. Lord, help this family to find their way out of the shadows and into the light of Your grace. Mend, heal and restore the shattered mind that is grouping in the world for relief. Turn what the enemy means for evil to their good and Your glory. Let the joy of You be the strength we all need for this day. Jesus be magnified, Amen.
