Jeremiah 17:5

Thus says the Lord, "Cursed is the man who trust in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord."

Dear Heavenly Father,
May my hope be found in nothing more than Jesus Christ. You have promised blessed is the one whose hope and trusts in You. They shall be like a tree planted by waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, will not fear when heat comes because its leaves will remain green. Nor be anxious in drought because it will not ceasing in yielding fruit. Thank You Father for the privilege to meet people over the years that are like mighty trees. Like the young couple who lost their chicken farm because they were run out of town for believing in You, and yet they continue on giving thanks. The young boy who has been bullied in school yet declares that You are doing a work in him, The old women who has endured a serious mental illness, but still had joy deep down in her soul. The man who despite disappointment and rejection continues to walk a single life of peace in You. The gentlemen who is so socially awkward, yet is found praising You in church unashamed. Oh, Father there are countless others who have surrendered their plans, dreams and lives to You, not trusting in their own strength, or the strength of others. True hero's and defenders of the faith. You have said "Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help. Whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them." Who keeps the truth forever. Those who execute justice for the oppressed, give food to the hungry and freedom to the prisoner. Bless them Lord with every good and perfect gift from above. You Lord Jesus open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. And You are near to all that call upon You. Father, as I think upon all those over the ages who have remained steadfast in faith, the nameless, faceless people, the saints who one day I pray to be in the midst with gathered around Your throne worshiping and adoring You for all eternity. Yes, Lord this is my one desire to honor You. Amen.
