1 Timothy 6:6

Now godliness with contentment is great gain.

Oh, Father how hope deferred makes the heart sick. I pray Lord for those of us who have unfulfilled longings, when we are waiting for our deepest hopes to be realized, it can cause us to be despondent, and desperate. May we not get lost in the quest for relief from disappointment and be tempted to manipulate and demand satisfaction according to our timetable. I pray we will hold on to the dream You have places in our hearts and not settle for much less than the best that You have planned for us. Only You Lord see the entire picture and only You Lord have the power to fulfill the desires of our hearts. May we learn that what ever state we are in to be content. I pray we will know how to be abased, and how to abound, in everything and in all things to learn to be both full and to be hungry, to succeed and to suffer, remembering we can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us. Father I pray we flee from foolishness, harmful lusts, and the desire for riches that tempt and snare us leading us to stray from the faith. I pray we will be men and women of God, fleeing from these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, love, patience, and gentleness. May we fight the good fight of faith laying hold of eternal life, to which we are called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. May we keep the commandment to love You with all our hearts, minds, soul and strength with out spot, and blameless until Your appearing.  Jesus, You are the King of kings and Lord of lords. Father it is so good that our hearts be established by Your grace so we may be content with what we have. Rejoicing that You will never leave or nor forsake us. Thank You Lord for loving us and may You know that from the depths of our hearts we love You too. In Jesus precious name I pray. Amen.
