Hebrews 11:22

By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instruction concerning his bones.

Good morning, Lord. As I walk through the hall of faith as written in Hebrews, I ponder why was this the thing we are to remember and be encourage by in Joseph's life, where he wanted his bones to be? What is it that You are teaching me? Joseph was favored by his father, given a coat of many colors. You gave him dreams that all came to pass. He was hated by relatives whose jealousy brought forth the desire to kill him. He was enslaved, imprisoned and forgotten yet was a man of integrity. He was remembered and promoted. He honored and served well. He had wisdom for the challenges that were ahead. He knew what the enemy meant for evil You turned for good. You used him to bring reconciliation and forgiveness in his family. But the passage makes no mention of these things, curious. Then comes the realization Joseph foreknew the coming day when You would bring them out of Egypt. He knew one day they would dwell in the promised land. Thus, desiring that his bones should be laid there. Even though they had a good, peaceful, and prosperous life in the land of Egypt, his heart was set on the exodus. Father, I hear Joseph's message, when life is lived in You better days are coming. So today I simply rejoice and believe with Jesus my best day is yet to come when I step into eternity with You. Thank You Father for loving us and giving us Your Son and the promise of a happily ever after. Amen.
